Mr. Willie Lee Green, Sr. was born on June 20, 1931 to the late Ferdinand and
Willeen Clark Ragin. He was reared by the late Henry and Rita Green.
At an early age, he gave his life to Christ and joined St. Peter A.M.E. Church,
Rimini, South Carolina. He was a faithful and dedicated member during his life. There he
served faithfully in many capacities throughout the years as a member of: the Trustee Board,
the Steward Board and the Male Chorus.
Willie was employed at Korn Industries for thirty-nine years as a machine operator. He
was blessed to retire from there in 1996.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Carrie Gaymon Green on October 17, 1953.
They were married for forty-seven wonderful years until her passing. This union was
blessed with six children.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Aaron and David Green and three
siblings; Susan White, Annie Bell Moore and John Ragin.
He leaves to cherish his memories and grow from his legacy: four children,
Bishop Willie (Juanita) Green, Jr. of Sumter, SC, Susie (James) Parker of Bronx, NY,
Diane Green of Patterson, NJ and Carrie Jones of Sumter, SC; two sisters, Martha
(Johnnie) Hood of Baltimore, MD and Shirley Ford of Patterson, NJ; brother-in-law,
Charles (Mary) Gaymon; sisters-in-law, Susan Perteet of Charlotte, NC, Almeta Nelson of
Sumter, SC, and Martha Ragin of Harlem, NY; daughters-in-law, Diane (Charlie) Brown
of Columbia, SC, and Delores Green of Sumter, SC; thirteen grandchildren, thirty great-
grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other close relatives and friends.
In accordance with the requirements given by the CDC in reference to the COVID-19
pandemic, the family is not receiving relatives and friends at the residence.
Mask are required for both viewing and the Funeral Service. No more than ten
people at a time will be allowed in the funeral home for viewing.
If anyone in your family is ill, please ask them to stay home during the funeral
service. We understand this is a difficult request; however, it is imperative that we
take every precaution to prevent the spread of illness and disease.
We strongly recommend that all persons continue to follow the guidelines of
social distancing; refraining from shaking hands, hugging, and kissing.
Please note that these are recommendations adopted by Dyson’s Home for
Funerals. Please remember that your attendance at any funeral service or public
gathering is at YOUR OWN RISK.
The Dyson’s Home for Funerals Staff will go above and beyond to
accommodate your requests and exceed your expectations. Still, we need your help.
