Mrs. Pearly Rose Dyson Johnson entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 30,
2018 at NHC Healthcare-Sumter, Sumter, SC.
Born in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Stukes Dyson and
Louise Jones Dyson. She was the wife of Jerry Johnson.
Pearly Rose attended the public schools of Clarendon County, where she was a
graduate of Scott's Branch High School, Class of 1970. She attended Nursing School
in New York. Pearly Rose was a member of Queen of the South #304 Order of the
Eastern Star. She was a member of Historic Liberty Hill A.M.E. Church, Summerton, SC,
where she served as a missionary, a member of the Sons and Daughters of Job and a
Family Community Leader, III.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nicole Johnson, a sister, Dorothy
(Bennie) Perry and a brother, Roderick Walker.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Jerry Johnson; a daughter,
Jennifer (Larry) Ryder of McDonough, GA ; 2 grandsons, Keion Stukes of the home
and Jai E. Ryder of McDonough, GA, one sister, Sarah (Rev. John) Washington of
Yemassee, SC; three brothers, John Nelson and Henry Briggs, both of Brooklyn, NY
and LC (Josephine) Nelson of East Hampton, NY; nieces and nephews that were raised
in the home, Bennie (Tanika) Perry, Brent (Kaela) Perry, Bridget Perry and Marcus
(Aprille) Washington; brothers and sisters-in-law; Terry Walker, Joe (Ida) Johnson, Ben
(Camilla) Johnson, Harold (Nell) Johnson, Victor (Ruth) Johnson, Rev. Emma Mellerson,
Mattie (Rev. Pinckney) Hilton and Mary Whaley and a host of close relatives and
