A Time to Be Born
       Deacon Frank Caldwell
was born on Monday, July 5, 1937 in Clarendon
County.  He was a son of the late Nathan Caldwell and Alfair “Daughter “ Jones
Caldwell.    


A Time to Grow
     
  Frank received his formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County. In
1956,
Frank migrated to New York, where he met his soul mate, Dorothy Shirley
Spann.  The were married on August 23, 1958.  To this union, a son and daughter
were born.  Frank was employed at Williamsburg Steel company as a steel worker until
his retirement.  


      
 Frank was a dedicated and faithful member of Greater Zion –Shiloh Baptist
Church, where he was an usher.  After retirement, he returned to his home in South
Carolina.
 Frank joined Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church, Summerton, SC, where he
served as a member of the  senior usher board, senior choir, men choir, trustee board,
deacon and he supported other auxiliaries.
 Frank  enjoyed serving God and was a
great asset to his church and community.  He was a member of the Clarendon County
Branch of the NAACP and a member of Summerton Masonic Lodge # 366.


A Time to Die
       Frank
entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 1, 2019 at McLeod Health-
Clarendon, Manning, SC. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Nathan, Harold,
Herbert, Mary and Dorothy.



A Time to Mourn
       
He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories, his wife, Dorothy
Shirley Spann-Caldwell (for over 60 years) of the home; two children, Bruce Caldwell  of
Columbia, SC and Cynthia E. ( Javan Hunter) Caldwell-Jones of Brooklyn, NY; three
sisters, Rosalee Tolbert of New York, NY, Fannie Mae Talford and Katie Mae Caldwell,
both of  Manning, SC; two grandchildren, Shawnte (Keshaun) Jones-Spruell of
Brooklyn, NY and Edward M. Jones, II  of Columbia, SC; 3 God-children, Casey Carter,
Brenda Brogdon-Alexis and Kimberly Jackson; five sisters-in-law; Ruby Carter of
Camden, SC, Alberta Carter of Hampton, VA,  Ollie Bell (Willie) Carter, Elaine Wilson
and Hattie Caldwell, all of Brooklyn, NY, Bernice C. Spann of Pinewood, SC  and a host
of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.and a host of other close relatives
and friends.


  The family is receiving friends at the home, 6 Branch Street, Manning, SC.
