Mr. Detone Antonio Dyson, husband of Tracey Ford Dyson, was born on Tuesday,
August 28, 1979 in Sumter, SC to John Dyson, Jr. and Mattie M. Jones Dyson.
He attended the public schools of Clarendon School District One, Summerton, SC and
Benedict College, Columbia, SC. Detone grew up attending church at St. Mark
Missionary Baptist Church in Silver, SC and in his later years, New Bethel Missionary
Baptist Church, Sumter, SC.
Detone was co-owner/operator of Dee Tee Dyson Express, LLC for the past 14
years. He enjoyed driving trucks. When he was not on the road, you could often find him
helping on the family farm.
He was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed being around people and was often
the grill master and DJ (Dirt road) at hosted events. Detone always brought a smile to
those around him with his "larger than life" personality.
Detone entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 2, 2020 in Charlotte, NC.
He leaves to mourn his passing and grow from his memories: his loving wife, Tracey
Ford Dyson; three sons, Donavan and Dylan Dyson of the home and Damion Washington
of SC; his parents, John and Mattie Dyson of SC; four siblings, Miranda (David) Archer of
Georgia, Cheryl Dyson Bennett of Maryland, John Adam (Kayla) Dyson of North Carolina
and Anthony Tindal of SC; In-Laws, Shirley Ford of NY, Marie (Eric) Pringle of SC,
Henry (Christina) Ford of NC, Derrick Ford, Wonda McClary of SC, and Shari Bracey
of SC and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends at the home of his parents, John Dyson, Jr. and Mattie
Mae J. Dyson, 1145 Rapid Edge Trail, Summerton, SC.
